What is Software Assurance and what’s included?
A

Software Assurance is an opt-out subscription service we provide to give your business the help and support you need. It offers you access to our professional support team so you can ask and questions you have and get help on using the software. It also gives you access to any updates to the software during a designated period.

Software Assurance is included for no additional costs to our subscription licences.

For customers purchasing perpetual licenses, Software Assurance is available for an additional charge, and 12 months is required on purchase.

We can provide you with a quote for additional Software Assurance, beyond the required 12 months, if you’re interested.

Please notify us in writing at least 14 days before your Software Assurance is due to opt out of your subscription.

How easy is the installation process? Can BrightBox assist me?

What is the difference between Fixed and Floating?
A

Depending on how you intend to use MudShark, will determine which licence type is best for you. We’ve listed the differences between Fixed and Floating licence types below.

Fixed Licence

With a Fixed Licence, your copy of the MudShark is locked to a single computer. The software must be uninstalled before it can be used on another machine. Subscription licences are always fixed,

Floating Licence

With a Floating Licence, your copy of the MudShark can be installed and used on as many machines as you require. You can have as many users active as you have Floating Licences, which can be one, two or more.

What is MudShark Trench?
A

MudShark Trench is a separate product to MudShark, and can be purchased as standalone software or for the best value it can be bundled together with MudShark.

Do I need an internet connection to use MudShark?
A

If you are using a Floating Licence, an internet connection is required every time you launch and close MudShark. If you are using a Fixed Licence, an internet connection is required to validate your software every 15 days.

Is MudShark a cloud (web-based) solution?
A

No, MudShark is not a cloud solution.

Does MudShark run on a Mac?
A

MudShark can be used on a Mac, but only by running it through a Windows operating system via a virtual machine, such as Parallels.

What are the system requirements to run MudShark and MudShark Trench?
A

For desktop installations, both MudShark and MudShark Trench will run on for server installations, or Windows 7 or greater for standalone desktop installations.

For Server Installations, both MudShark and MudShark Trench will run on Windows Server 2008 or greater.
